A early sunrise photograph taken at Cradle Mountain, Tasmania. The night before was quite chilly so it didn’t surprise me that there was ice scattered around the scene which created the perfect composition.

Couldn’t sleep so taking sunrise shots seemed the wise option. I arrive and my camera wouldn’t switch on, what the fuck. But in the end it turned on and has worked fine since, odd no? One shot from this pretty waterscape sunrise at Taroona Beach, Tasmania. Usual setup used..

A final shot from a evening trip at Clifton Beach, Tasmania. The short long exposure of this waterscape allowed me to capture more movement in the water which would of otherwise looked much different with a longer exposure. Shot with my normal setup of a Canon 350D, Canon 10-22 and Cokin ND grads.

A brief long exposure taken as the traffic passes through the little city of Hobart. A slight long exposure allowed me to capture the traffic as it passed by and this was really only made possible because the sun was just setting which created a soft light that’s perfect for extending the exposure time.
Shot with my Canon 350D, Canon 10-22 and around a 5 shot HDR.

A black and white photograph taken with my Canon 350D, Canon 10-22 and Cokin ND grads. The photograph was for a competition where the theme was ‘Centred Composition’. For memory it did alright which was nice.

After leaving home at 8pm we made our way to the Tasman Peninsular where we set up camp and I experimented with star trails as we pottered around in the dark. This was a series of 5 shots which were each around 10 minutes at F/6.5. Later I combined these in photoshop and set the overlay mode to lighten.

A quiet afternoon where the water was so reflective. Photograph captured with my Canon 350D and Canon 18-55. Surprisingly this shot is HDR which alot of people probably didn’t initially recognise. It made a little bit of difference in bringing out greater dynamic range.
