I took this when I first got my Cokin nd grads in 2006. This was my first shot with them and I knew I had made the right decision. Previously when taking seascape long exposure photographs my exposure of the sea would be spot on however the sky would be blown, this was no more. Anyone that is serious about seascapes or landscapes should have gradual neutral density filters in their bag.

Thanks Andrew, I think there was vibrant light to the right of the frame which lit the rocks beautifully.

What cokin Nd grad filter did you use for this picture?/ love your website and all the tips on long exposures thanks for any help ahead of time!

I do like the exposure length here. Long enough to capture movement, but not long enough to turn everything into a silken mist effect. Excellent Colours in there too.
