Gordon Dam

Gordon Dam

I really can’t stand heights.

This is actually a snap shot for an engineering nerd friend that gets excited over big dams, similar to my fetish for expensive cameras. As it’s different to the norm of seascapes and is just a snapshot I wasn’t actually going to post but here goes..

Captured at Strathgordon, Tasmania with a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 17-40, B+W 110 and Cokin Z-Pro .9 neutral density filters.

    Hah,

I am an engineer and photographer, but while I get excited over both, cameras are much better

lol, same as James. despite the destruction caused to build it, it’s an intriguing structure. i like how you’ve cut-off the bottom of the wall, makes it seem semi-infinite, an impossible feat.

HI, Ive been reading your blog for a few months now with allot of interest, But this picture is quite awkward to view for me, Usually your work displays a good knowledge of where to lead the eye, but with this the transition and placement of the dam and to the background seems awkward. Just a thought!

Hi Dave! Thanks for the interest in my work :) I agree with your thoughts on this image and as I said it’s more a snapshot for a friend who didn’t have his camera with him but yes definitely not one for the portfolio.

      Thanks again
