The Canon 7D has finally been released! I remember reading rumours of this affordable body long before the Canon 5D Mark II was even released so it’s about time..

From dpreview:

As anticipated Canon has today announced the EOS 7D digital SLR. It boasts a new 18MP CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 4 processors, ISO range expandable to 12800, continuous shooting at 8 fps and full HD video recording. It also incorporates a new viewfinder with 1.0x magnification and 100% coverage and a 3 inch LCD with 920k dot resolution.

The EOS 7D is also the first EOS to introduce a Dual-Axis Electronic Level – in the viewfinder and on the LCD — that indicates both pitch and roll angles. This feature is particularly useful when shooting landscapes to ensure a level horizon, or when used in conjunction with a Tilt and Shift lens to level the camera.”

I’ve followed this release with interest as it was something I would’ve considered if released more closer to the 5D mark II. By the looks of it a very nice release and puts Canon back on the playing field a bit more with a competitive Nikon.

What are your thoughts on the release? Will you be buying?

True or not? Who knows but interesting nevertheless ;) Everyone loves a Canon 5D Mark II rumor
