af06_16799677War time pho­tog­ra­phy is inter­est­ing, I have an inter­est as it’s some­thing I’d never have the courage to do but also because my local news­pa­per doesn’t really touch on the topic much with pho­tographs but instead a small text arti­cle. When you actu­ally look at the pho­tographs to under­stand the ter­rain which sol­diers must deal with it really makes you realise how hard the day to day activ­i­ties for sol­diers must be. John Moore recently cap­tured a series of pho­tographs in the Koren­gal Val­ley, Afghanistan which I thought might inter­est you. (Click)

Recently I’ve been watch­ing Kill Gen­er­a­tion a new show from HBO set in 2003 when the US invaded Iraq. Like all shows HBO picks up this one is tak­ing off nicely and worth a look. But from the show it got me search­ing for war pho­tog­ra­phy and this gallery on the time web­site stuck out as quite amaz­ing by James Nachtwey and was worth shar­ing, click here to view
