2 minute exposure of a nice wooden jetty that I’ve been wanting to photograph for some time. It was a cold and wet afternoon so I was lucky to catch a break in the weather to capture this before the rain set back in again.

I like this one but don’t expect others to. This was strange, I looked up to hear yelling from a far and noticed some jokers yelling obscenities at me. It was 7.30 so I guess they’re excused. I’m not a morning person either.

Woke up randomly this morning and procrastinated whether to brave the cold and take a drive somewhere for a few seascape sunrise shots. I ended up getting out of bed after a struggle and fired a few at Taroona. This was around 3 and a half minutes at F.13 made possible with the trusty B+W 110 nd filter. In the past when shooting Taroona or any waterscape on sunrise for that matter, I’ve really struggled to get long exposures once the sun has risen so it was quite fun to have the opportunity to still obtain long exposures even though the scene was bright.

Two photos from a very wild Snug Falls.
I’ve uploaded a small video to give you an idea of how much water was flowing (click). Don’t forget to turn HD on

I love it when the sea is this wild, it makes a place I’ve shot countless times completely different as the rocks you walk around normally end up being the rocks you stand on to hide from the rough sea.

I like how much a long exposure changes a scene, smooth water and a slight movement of the clouds really creates a nice effect. Anyway click here for a faster shutter speed version to compare the different effects but you can decide..
Captured at Midway Point (just near the Hobart airport) with a Canon 5D II, Canon 17-40 and B+W 110. The filter allowed me to pull a 4 minute exposure even though it was still relatively light, cooool.
